Glass radiant panel – powerful glass infrared heater for wall and ceiling
This glass radiant panel is a powerful electric infrared heater made of glass for mounting on walls or ceilings. It combines efficient infrared radiant heat with a modern, frameless glass design and is ideal as a space-saving wall or ceiling heater in living rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and many other applications.
Unlike classic convection heaters, the glass radiant heater does not primarily warm the air but surfaces, walls, furniture, and bodies in the room. This creates a cozy feeling of warmth, dry walls, and a pleasant indoor climate – even at moderate air temperatures. The glass surface harmoniously integrates into modern interior design and makes the heating panel a functional design element.
Advantages of the glass radiant panel as a glass infrared heater
- Elegant, frameless glass surface – ideal for modern living and bathroom design
- Usable as wall heating or ceiling heating (including brackets for wall and ceiling mounting)
- Infrared radiant heat for a pleasant, even room temperature
- High power – suitable for medium-sized rooms or increased heat demand
- Suitable for damp rooms (protection rating IP44) – ideal for bathrooms and wellness areas
- Recommendation: about 5–6 m² in the bathroom, approx. 8 m² in the living area as a guideline per heating panel
- Optionally combinable with towel holders – ideal as glass bathroom heater and towel warmer
- Low-maintenance, silent, and odorless electric heater without dust circulation

Application areas of the glass radiant heater
The glass radiant panel can be used as an electric infrared heater in many areas:
- As a glass bathroom heater in bathrooms, guest toilets, or wellness areas
- As a wall heater in living and dining rooms, bedrooms, or children's rooms
- As a ceiling heater in hallways, offices, treatment rooms, or meeting rooms
- As an additional heater in rooms with high heat demand or spot heating
- As a design heating surface in modern interiors with visible glass surface
Sizing of the electric infrared heater made of glass
The following guideline values can be used for designing a glass infrared heater as the sole room heating:
- Living spaces with standard construction: approximately 75–80 W/m²
- Damp rooms such as bathrooms and showers: approximately 100–120 W/m²
This glass radiant panel with higher power is especially suitable for medium-sized rooms or areas with increased heat demand. For living spaces up to about 9.9 m², usually a single infrared heater can be planned. From about 10 m² to 19.9 m², it is advisable to distribute two heating panels in the room to achieve heat supply from two sides. From about 20 m², three heating elements can be provided to ensure even heat distribution.
Installation, minimum distances, and safety
The glass radiant panel is supplied with suitable brackets that allow secure mounting on walls or ceilings. For safe and efficient operation of the glass heater, the following minimum distances must be observed:
- Bottom edge: at least 5 cm distance from the floor
- Top and side edges: at least 5 cm distance from adjacent components
- Front side: at least 50 cm distance from furniture, textiles, and other objects
Optionally, the glass radiant panel can be equipped with towel holders. This makes it particularly suitable as a bathroom heater that pleasantly warms both the room and towels. Installation should be carried out by a professional, especially in bathrooms and damp rooms.
Design variants and glass surfaces
The glass radiant panel is available in several clear, brilliant color versions. For certain power sizes, models with high-quality print designs are also available. The print is applied as a ceramic print directly on the inside of the glass surface and is therefore permanently protected against mechanical damage.
This allows the appearance of the glass heater to be optimally adapted to the room style – from subtle and inconspicuous to a striking design element on the wall. The glass radiant panel can thus be both a functional electric heater and a decorative heating surface.
Control, thermostats, and Ecodesign Directive
The operation of electric radiant panels and underfloor heating systems is subject to the requirements of the EU Ecodesign Directive 2015/1188. Installation and commissioning are only permitted in conjunction with suitable external room thermostats that offer at least one of the following functions:
- Electronic room temperature control with weekday scheduling and adaptive heating start regulation
- Electronic room temperature control with weekday scheduling and remote control option
- Electronic room temperature control with weekday scheduling and open window detection
The use of a suitable thermostat ensures compliance with legal requirements and at the same time provides an energy-efficient, comfortable, and well-controllable operation of the glass infrared heater. Especially in combination with programmable or smart thermostats, comfort and energy consumption can be optimally coordinated.
Summary – Glass Radiant Panel as a Modern Electric Heater
This glass radiant panel in the high-performance version is a modern, electric infrared heater made of glass for wall and ceiling mounting. It provides pleasant infrared radiant heat, a high-quality glass design, and flexible applications in living rooms, bathrooms, offices, and many other areas. In combination with a suitable thermostat, it creates an efficient, comfortable, and visually appealing heating solution for modern buildings and renovation projects.
