Infrared heating for halls, workshops, and industrial applications: TEL Forza
Professional hall heating without preheating: The TEL Forza series provides immediate, targeted heat for production halls, workshops, logistics centers, and other commercial applications. With an output range of 1.5 to 12 kW, you efficiently heat only the work areas actually in use, not the entire hall. TEL Forza is the in-house series developed by TEL GmbH (Temperatur Experten Leichlingen), available directly from stock in Leichlingen.
How do I calculate the right heating output for my hall?
General rule: Infrared heaters do not need to heat the entire hall. The calculation is based on the actual work area in use, not the total area of the hall.
| Application area | Output per m² of floor area | Example calculation | Suitable TEL Forza model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coldest winter days | approx. 0.2 kW per m² | 25 m² work area = approx. 5 kW | Forza Double 3.0 kW plus Forza Single 1.5 kW or Forza Triple 4.5 kW |
| Shoulder seasons (autumn/spring) | approx. 0.1 to 0.15 kW per m² | 25 m² work area = approx. 2.5 to 3.75 kW | Forza Single 1.5 or 2.0 kW, ideally with a wireless dimmer |
| Large work area in a large hall | approx. 0.2 kW per m² of work area | 45 m² work area in a 1,000 m² hall = approx. 9 kW | Forza Sexta 9.0 kW |
Practical example: A Forza Sexta 9.0 kW can efficiently heat a work area of around 45 m² in a large hall without having to heat the entire hall.

Typical areas of application
Order-picking table, packing table, desk in the hall, workstations at the warehouse gate, workshop, sports hall, general hall heating, and workstations for machine and system operators.
TEL Forza Carbon: Heat without distracting light
For applications where little or no light from the infrared heaters is desired, such as in production areas with reflective surfaces or other light-sensitive environments, the Carbon version of the Forza range offers a suitable solution. Carbon heaters use medium-wave rather than short-wave infrared technology, making them significantly less bright and distributing their heat more evenly and noticeably more gently. This makes them particularly suitable for enclosed spaces where broad, comfortable heat distribution is the priority.
| Model | Power | Dimensions (L x H x D) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forza Carbon Single | 2.5 kW | 690 x 250 x 140 mm | 6.0 kg |
| Forza Carbon Triple (horizontal) | 7.5 kW | 2,080 x 250 x 140 mm | 12.5 kg |

Mobile solution without installation work: TEL infrared heater stand
No option for wall or ceiling mounting, or no personnel available for the electrical connection? The TEL infrared heater stand quickly brings two infrared heaters to any desired location in your hall without installation work. Both heaters can be switched on individually and flexibly controlled via a practical control box—ideal for temporary workstations, seasonally used areas of halls, or businesses with frequently changing layouts.
The stand is height-adjustable between 140 and 240 cm, has a footprint of 550 x 550 mm, and weighs 19 kg. It is available either with two Forza Single 1.5 kW infrared heaters and a control box, with a control box without heaters, or without any accessories for use with existing equipment. The current prices for the individual versions can be found on the respective product page.
Control systems for TEL Forza
TEL dimmers for heaters allow the heat output to be adjusted and help save energy when it is not needed. All dimmers are suitable for continuous commercial use and operate within a temperature range of approx. minus 20°C to plus 40°C.
| Wireless dimmer | Maximum connected load | Control | Protection rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wireless dimmer 2.0 kW | 2.0 kW | 4 levels: 33% / 50% / 66% / 100% plus ON/OFF | IP 65 |
| Wireless dimmer 3.4 kW | 3.4 kW | Continuously variable, including timer function (15/30 minutes via DIP switch) | IP 54 |
| Wireless dimmer 6.8 kW | 6.8 kW, e.g. 2 x 3 kW | Continuously variable | IP 54 |
The system can be operated via a wireless remote control (available separately, 4-channel for step switching or 42-channel for continuously variable dimming in up to 6 groups, range approx. 20 m) or via a standard wired push button. The dimmers are generally also compatible with heaters from other manufacturers, provided the tube is dimmable and the heater has no integrated control system or soft starter. You can find the current prices on the respective product page.

Why short-wave infrared technology is more economical in halls
Buildings with high ceilings, poor insulation, or frequently opened doors often pose an almost insurmountable challenge for conventional heating systems. Short-wave infrared heaters primarily warm surfaces, people, and work areas rather than the air, similar to sunlight in winter, but without any UV component. This means there is hardly any heat loss through open doors or drafts, and only the work area actually in use is heated instead of the air throughout the entire hall.
- No heat-up time: The heaters are ready for operation within a few seconds, making them ideal for shift changes or frequent door opening.
- Maintenance-free operation: No regular maintenance required; the heating elements can simply be replaced when needed.
- Scalable: From 1.5 kW for individual workstations to 12 kW for large work areas in high-bay warehouses or production halls.
- Compatible with renewable energies: For more climate-friendly operation, depending on the respective energy mix.
Frequently asked questions about infrared heating in halls and workshops
Does infrared heating also work with open hall doors?
Yes. Since short-wave infrared heating directly warms people, work surfaces, and machines instead of the air, heat losses through open doors are minimal. This makes TEL Forza particularly suitable for logistics halls and areas with frequent goods handling.
What control systems are available for TEL Forza?
From simple wireless dimmers with 3 to 4 power levels to continuously variable dimmers with a timer function, each operated via a wireless remote control or wired push button. All dimmers are designed for continuous commercial use.
Is there a solution without permanent installation on the wall or ceiling?
Yes, the TEL heater stand allows up to two Forza infrared heaters to be used without any installation effort. It is height-adjustable between 140 and 240 cm and can be flexibly positioned anywhere in the hall.
Can multiple TEL Forza units be combined?
Yes, multiple units can be combined for larger work areas. We would be happy to advise you on the optimal arrangement for even heat distribution in your hall.
How long do TEL Forza infrared heaters last?
The units are designed for continuous operation, even with more than 8 hours of daily use. The heating elements can be replaced when needed, allowing the units to be ready for use again immediately after replacing a tube.
