Glass radiant panel – powerful glass infrared heater for walls and ceilings

This glass radiant panel is a powerful electric infrared heater made of glass for wall or ceiling mounting. It combines efficient infrared radiant heat with a modern, frameless glass design and is ideal as a space-saving wall or ceiling heater in living rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices and many other applications.

Unlike conventional convection heaters, the glass radiant heater does not primarily heat the air, but rather surfaces, walls, furniture and people in the room. This creates a comfortable feeling of warmth, dry walls and a pleasant indoor climate – even at moderate air temperatures. The glass surface blends harmoniously into modern interior design and makes the heating panel a functional design element.

Advantages of the glass radiant panel as a glass infrared heater

  • Elegant, frameless glass surface – ideal for modern living spaces and bathrooms
  • Can be used as a wall or ceiling heater (including brackets for wall and ceiling mounting)
  • Infrared radiant heat for a pleasant, even room temperature
  • Powerful design – suitable for medium-sized rooms or higher heating requirements
  • Suitable for damp areas (IP44 protection rating) – ideal for bathrooms and wellness areas
  • Recommendation: approx. 4–5 m² in the bathroom and approx. 6–7 m² in living spaces as a guideline per heating panel
  • 200 cm connection cable with moulded Schuko plug for easy electrical connection
  • Can optionally be combined with towel rails – ideal as a glass bathroom heater and towel warmer
  • Low-maintenance, silent and odourless electric heating without circulating dust

Applications for the glass radiant heater

The glass radiant panel can be used as an electric infrared heater in many areas:

  • As a glass bathroom heater in the bathroom, guest toilet or wellness area
  • As a wall heater in living rooms and dining rooms, bedrooms or children's rooms
  • As a ceiling heater in hallways, offices, treatment rooms or meeting rooms
  • As an additional heater in rooms with high heating requirements or for targeted heating
  • As a designer heating surface in modern interiors with a visible glass surface

Sizing the electric glass infrared heater

The following guidelines can be used to size a glass infrared heater as the sole source of room heating:

  • Living spaces with standard building insulation: approx. 75–80 W/m²
  • Damp areas such as bathrooms and showers: approx. 100–120 W/m²

This glass radiant panel is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized rooms. For living spaces of up to approx. 9.9 m², one infrared heater can generally be planned. From approx. 10 m² to 19.9 m², it is recommended to distribute two heating panels in the room to provide heat from two sides. Similarly, three heating elements can be provided for areas from approx. 20 m² to ensure even heat distribution.

Installation, minimum clearances and safety

The glass radiant panel is supplied with suitable brackets that enable secure wall or ceiling mounting. The following minimum clearances must be observed for safe and efficient operation of the glass heater:

  • Bottom edge: at least 5 cm clearance from the floor
  • Top and side edges: at least 5 cm clearance from adjoining components
  • Front: at least 50 cm clearance from furniture, textiles and other objects

The glass radiant panel can optionally be equipped with towel rails. This makes it particularly suitable as a bathroom heater that pleasantly warms both the room and towels. Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in bathrooms and damp areas.

Design options and glass surfaces

The glass radiant panel is available in several clear, brilliant colour finishes. In addition to classic, solid-colour glass surfaces, models with high-quality printed designs are also available for certain power ratings. The print is applied as a ceramic print directly to the inside of the glass surface, providing permanent protection against mechanical damage.

This allows the appearance of the glass heater to be optimally matched to the style of the room – from subtle and discreet to a striking design element on the wall. The glass radiant panel can therefore serve as both a functional electric heater and a decorative heating surface.

Controls, thermostats and Ecodesign Directive

The requirements of EU Ecodesign Directive 2015/1188 apply to the operation of electric radiant panels and underfloor heating systems. Installation and commissioning are only permitted in conjunction with suitable external room thermostats that offer at least one of the following functions:

  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday control and adaptive control of the heating start
  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday control and remote-control option
  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday control and open-window detection

Using a suitable thermostat ensures compliance with legal requirements while also providing energy-efficient, comfortable and easily controllable operation of the glass infrared heater. Programmable or smart thermostats are particularly effective for optimally balancing comfort and energy consumption.

Summary – glass radiant panel as a modern electric heater

This glass radiant panel in the more powerful version is a modern electric infrared heater made of glass for wall and ceiling mounting. It provides pleasant infrared radiant heat, a high-quality glass design and flexible applications in living spaces, bathrooms, offices and many other areas. Combined with a suitable thermostat, it creates an efficient, comfortable and visually appealing heating solution for modern buildings and renovation projects.
