Glass Radiant Panel – Powerful Glass Infrared Heater for Wall and Ceiling

This glass radiant panel is a powerful electric infrared heater made of glass for wall or ceiling installation. It combines efficient infrared radiant heat with a modern, frameless glass design and is ideal as a space-saving wall heater or ceiling heater in living areas, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and many other applications.

Unlike conventional convection heaters, the glass radiant heater does not primarily heat the air but rather surfaces, walls, furniture, and people in the room. This creates a comfortable feeling of warmth, dry walls, and a pleasant indoor climate – even at moderate air temperatures. The glass surface blends harmoniously into modern interior design and makes the heating panel a functional design element.

Benefits of the Glass Radiant Panel as a Glass Infrared Heater

  • Elegant, frameless glass surface – ideal for modern living areas and bathroom design
  • Can be used as a wall heater or ceiling heater (including brackets for wall and ceiling installation)
  • Infrared radiant heat for a pleasant, even room temperature
  • High output – suitable for medium-sized rooms or increased heating requirements
  • Suitable for damp rooms (IP44 protection rating) – ideal for bathrooms and wellness areas
  • Recommendation: approximately 5–6 m² in bathrooms and approx. 8 m² in living areas as a guideline per heating panel
  • Optionally compatible with towel rails – ideal as a glass bathroom heater and towel warmer
  • Low-maintenance, silent, and odor-free electric heater without circulating dust

Applications of the Glass Radiant Heater

The glass radiant panel can be used as an electric infrared heater in many areas:

  • As a glass bathroom heater in bathrooms, guest WCs, or wellness areas
  • As a wall heater in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, or children's rooms
  • As a ceiling heater in hallways, offices, treatment rooms, or meeting rooms
  • As an additional heater in rooms with high heating requirements or for targeted heating
  • As a designer heating surface in modern interiors with a visible glass surface

Sizing the Electric Glass Infrared Heater

The following guidelines can be used when sizing a glass infrared heater as the sole source of room heating:

  • Living areas with standard building insulation: approximately 75–80 W/m²
  • Damp rooms such as bathrooms and showers: approximately 100–120 W/m²

This high-output glass radiant panel is particularly suitable for medium-sized rooms or areas with increased heating requirements. For living areas up to approximately 9.9 m², one infrared heater can generally be planned. From approximately 10 m² to 19.9 m², it is recommended to distribute two heating panels in the room to provide heat from two sides. From approximately 20 m², three heating elements can be planned to ensure even heat distribution.

Installation, Minimum Clearances, and Safety

The glass radiant panel is supplied with suitable brackets that enable secure installation on walls or ceilings. The following minimum clearances must be observed for safe and efficient operation of the glass heater:

  • Bottom edge: at least 5 cm clearance from the floor
  • Top and side edges: at least 5 cm clearance from adjacent building components
  • Front: at least 50 cm clearance from furniture, textiles, and other objects

The glass radiant panel can optionally be equipped with towel rails. This makes it particularly suitable as a bathroom heater that comfortably warms both the room and towels. Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional, particularly in bathrooms and damp rooms.

Design Variants and Glass Surfaces

The glass radiant panel is available in several clear, brilliant color finishes. Models with high-quality print designs are also available for certain output levels. The design is applied as a ceramic print directly to the inside of the glass surface, providing lasting protection against mechanical damage.

This allows the appearance of the glass heater to be ideally matched to the style of the room – from subtle and understated to a striking design element on the wall. The glass radiant panel can therefore serve as both a functional electric heater and a decorative heating surface.

Controls, Thermostats, and the Ecodesign Directive

The requirements of EU Ecodesign Directive 2015/1188 apply to the operation of electric radiant panels and underfloor heating systems. Installation and commissioning are only permitted in conjunction with suitable external room thermostats that provide at least one of the following functions:

  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday programming and adaptive control of heating start-up
  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday programming and remote-control option
  • Electronic room temperature control with weekday programming and open-window detection

Using a suitable thermostat ensures compliance with legal requirements while also providing energy-efficient, comfortable, and easily controllable operation of the glass infrared heater. Particularly when combined with programmable or smart thermostats, comfort and energy consumption can be optimally coordinated.

Summary – Glass Radiant Panel as a Modern Electric Heater

This high-output glass radiant panel is a modern electric infrared heater made of glass for wall and ceiling installation. It provides pleasant infrared radiant heat, a high-quality glass design, and flexible applications in living areas, bathrooms, offices, and many other settings. Combined with a suitable thermostat, it creates an efficient, comfortable, and visually appealing heating solution for modern buildings and renovation projects.
